This subgroup includes: - Mining of natural phosphates and natural potassium salts. - Mining of natural sulfur. - Extraction of pyrite and pyrrhotite, except roasting. - Mining of natural barium sulfate and carbonate (barite and witherite), natural borates, natural magnesium sulfate (kieserite). - Mining of earth colors, clays, and other minerals primarily used as chemicals. - Mining of guano (fertilizer material from bird or bat droppings). This subgroup does not include: - Salt extraction, see 0893. - Roasting of iron pyrites, see 2011. - Manufacture of artificial fertilizers and nitrogenous compounds, see 2012.
