Capture/Taking of Protected Echinoderms and/or CITES Appendix Echinoderms

This category includes the utilization of protected Echinoderms and/or CITES Appendix Echinoderms that are limited outside their protection regulations and/or subject to utilization restrictions according to ratified international conventions. These Echinoderms live in marine, freshwater, and brackish habitats and may be used for research and development, commercial breeding, domestic trade, international trade, aquaria, and exchange programs. Examples of Echinoderms in this category include Holothoria fuscogilva, Holothuria nobilis, and Holothuria whitmaei. This category does not cover the capture of fully protected Echinoderms based on national regulations, including those listed in CITES Appendix I, and/or those whose capture is prohibited according to government policies.
