Statistics Indonesia (BPS) Regulation No. 7 of 2024 on the Indonesian Standard Industrial Classification (KBLI 2025)
Peraturan Badan Pusat Statistik Nomor 7 Tahun 2024 tentang Klasifikasi Baku Lapangan Usaha Indonesia
What this regulation does
Plain-English summary of the regulation's substance and how it affects PT PMA operations.
BPS Reg. 7/2024 publishes KBLI 2025 — the new Indonesian Standard Industrial Classification system that replaces KBLI 2020 (BPS Reg. 2/2020) for statistical and licensing purposes. The 2025 update modernises classifications around digital services, downstream metals, EV components, renewable-energy generation, and emerging industries; it splits some 2020 codes that were too broad and consolidates others that were too narrow. The taxonomy follows the same A–U category structure as KBLI 2020 but with revised codes at the 4 and 5-digit level. OSS RBA is integrating both versions during a transition window through end-2026 — existing PMAs with KBLI 2020 codes are auto-mapped where a clean 1:1 successor exists, and receive an OSS notification when manual confirmation of a successor code is needed (split or merge cases). Sector regulators (OJK, ESDM, Kominfo, Kemenkes) are issuing their own implementing guidance with sector-specific transition deadlines.
