The provision of short-term and long-term medical, diagnostic, and treatment services, including physician, nursing, and other health care services for inpatients and specialized accommodation services required by inpatients, is carried out by general hospitals and specialized hospitals (e.g., general and regional hospitals, nonprofit organization hospitals, university hospitals, military hospitals, and prison hospitals). These activities are provided to patients and are controlled under the direct supervision of medical doctors, including | the activities of medical and health personnel; | the activities of laboratory facilities and technical facilities, including radiology and anesthesia activities; | the activities of nuclear medicine, diagnostic and interventional radiology, and radiotherapy; | the activities of emergency departments; | the activities of operating rooms, pharmacies, food, and other hospital services; | the activities of family planning centers that provide medical care, such as sterilization and termination of pregnancy with accommodation. This subclass also includes | the activities of mental or psychiatric health hospitals, providing diagnostic and medical care.
