Specialized construction activities (those involving specialized expertise), usually specializing in one aspect common to different structures, requiring specialized equipment or skills. Specialized construction is generally performed by subcontractors on behalf of the contractor, except for repairs, which are usually performed directly without subcontracting. This division includes the installation of all utilities necessary for the proper functioning of a building or civil structure. These activities are usually performed on the construction site, although some work may be performed off-site. This division also includes electrical installation, plumbing installation, and offshore construction installation on floating platforms; specialized construction for repairs and maintenance; and building completion. The rental of construction equipment with operators is classified in this division.
