Basic Metal Industry

The activity of smelting and refining ferrous and non-ferrous metals from ore, pig metal, waste metal or scrap, using various metallurgical techniques. This basic group also includes the manufacture of alloys and super alloys by mixing alloying elements with pure metals. The results of the smelting and refining processes are usually in the form of metal ingots used in milling, drawing, and extrusion to make products such as plates, sheets, slabs, pieces, bars, wire or tubes, pipes and hollow profiles, as well as in liquid form to make molds and other base metal products.
