General Insurance

This subgroup includes general insurance businesses, which involve providing risk insurance services that offer compensation to the insured or policyholder for losses, damages, incurred expenses, loss of profit, or legal liabilities to third parties that the insured or policyholder may suffer due to uncertain events. These activities can be conducted conventionally or based on Sharia principles. General insurance activities are carried out by conventional general insurance companies, Sharia-compliant general insurance companies, and Sharia-compliant general insurance units, all of which are regulated and supervised by the Financial Services Authority (Otoritas Jasa Keuangan or OJK).
