Microfinance Institutions
This subgroup includes microfinance institutions engaged in business activities that encompass enterprise development and community empowerment. They provide loans or financing for micro-scale businesses to their members and the community, manage savings, and offer non-profit business development consulting services. These institutions can operate conventionally or based on Sharia principles. The types of businesses conducted by microfinance institutions are carried out by both conventional microfinance institutions and Sharia microfinance institutions, which are regulated and supervised by the Financial Services Authority (Otoritas Jasa Keuangan).
