Funds other than for insurance, pension, or compulsory social security purposes. This division also includes activities for the custody of financial assets, such as holding companies, conduit financing, and the activities of trusts, funds, and similar financial institutions, which do not constitute economic production activities under the ISIC concept. Units classified in divisions 642 "Activities of holding companies and conduit financing" and 643 "Activities of trusts, funds, and similar financial institutions" have little or no employment, physical presence, or physical production (see paragraphs 162-163 in the introduction) and are included in the ISIC to facilitate the classification of units in the statistical business register.
