6201Computer Programming Activities

This subgroup includes expertise in information technology, such as writing, modifying, testing, and providing software support. This subgroup includes: - Designing the structure and content, and/or writing computer code necessary to create and implement system software (including updates and fixes), application software (including updates and fixes), databases, distributed ledger technology like blockchain, and websites. - Software customization, which involves modifying and configuring existing applications to function within a client's information system environment. - Creating or adapting software and videos to function on immersive media like augmented reality, virtual reality, or mixed reality. - AI-based programming. This subgroup does not include: - Software publishing, see 5820. - Planning and designing computer systems that integrate computer hardware, software, and communication technology, even though it provides software that is an integral part, see 6202.
