Postal Activities

This subgroup includes postal services operating under the universal service obligation. Activities carried out include the use of universal service infrastructure, including retail locations, sorting and processing facilities, and operator routes for the collection and delivery of universal postal items. Delivery includes letters, postcards, printed matter (newspapers, magazines, advertising materials, printed matter in special packets, etc.), small parcels, packages, grams, goods, or documents. It also includes other services required to support the universal service obligation. This subgroup includes: - Collection, sorting, transportation, and delivery (domestic or international) by postal services operating under the universal service obligation, covering letters, postcards, printed matter, and small parcels (letters containing goods) up to 2 kilograms, grams up to 7 kilograms, printed matter sent in special bags addressed to recipients at the same address up to 30 kilograms (M-bag), and postal parcels weighing up to 20 kilograms. This subgroup does not include: - Postal giro activities, postal savings, and money transfer services, see 6419.
