This subgroup includes: - Mining of ore containing uranium and thorium concentrates, uranium ore (pitchblende). - Concentration of uranium and thorium. - Production of yellowcake. This subgroup does not include: - Upgrading the grade or quality of uranium and thorium ore, see 2011. - Production of uranium metal from other uranium and thorium ores, see 2420. - Further processing of uranium, such as smelting or refining, see 2420.
